Counseling
School Counseling Services are available and essential for all students. The mission of the guidance department is to assist students in developing and supporting their academic and career goals. It is also our hope to enhance the intellectual, emotional and social development of all students while maximizing their potential and assisting in the development of a positive sense of self worth. Services include personal counseling, group counseling, academic advising, and career awareness. These are conducted through individual and group sessions, as well as and classroom lessons.
Although each student will receive scheduled appointments, the student is encouraged to make appointments with his/her counselor as needed. In cases of emergency, an appointment is not necessary, and the counselor will meet with the student as soon as possible. The counselors will also conduct group information meetings and guidance-related classroom lessons. Evening forums and activities will also be offered throughout the school year.
The guidance staff encourages parents/guardians to contact them with any concerns. The counselor, student, and parent/guardian play a significant role in positive development, and communication is vital.
