News & Announcements
NMRSD is facing a significant budget shortfall due to rising costs that outpace allowable tax revenue growth under Proposition 2 ½. Without approval of a district-wide, cumulative 2.25% budget override, the district will be forced to eliminate 45 full-time teaching positions, leading to larger class sizes, reduced academic programs, and fewer student opportunities.
Three NMRSD Middle School students, representing Ashby, Pepperell, and Townsend, will serve as service ambassadors for the statewide Project 351 this year.
The Grade 8 students -- Alaina Purcell of Ashby and Brooklyn Taylor of Townsend, who attend Hawthorne Brook Middle School, and Brooklyn Elzy of Pepperell, who attends Nissitissit Middle School -- attended the Project 351 kickoff at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum in Boston on Jan. 25.
n partnership with the Close Up Foundation, Johnson & Johnson is providing scholarships to nine students — one from each of Massachusetts’ nine congressional districts — to participate in the Close Up Washington Program.
Manni, who is from Pepperell, was notified of his acceptance on Jan. 27.
The North Middlesex Regional School Committee and district administrators on Thursday announced the potential closing of two schools at the end of the current school year, as well as cuts to programs and teaching staff to address ongoing structural funding issues created by inadequate state support.
Superintendent Brad Morgan is pleased to announce the appointment of Laurie Smith as Principal of North Middlesex Regional High School, effective immediately.
