Giving Back Never Gets Old

The New Orleans Service Learning Program is now in its 12th year and is even more committed to doing service than ever. Over February vacation, a group of 45 North Middlesex students and 8 chaperones traveled down to Louisiana to complete 8 days of service in the cities of New Orleans and Baton Rouge. The experience was life-changing for everyone on the trip. Members of the group had a learning experience like no other, learning about the hardships caused by Hurricane Katrina, the recent tornadoes, and the floods of August 2016. Students learned about a new culture and gained a plethora of lifelong skills. Each day, everyone was sent to one of seven different job sites, which included tornado relief, painting, animal shelter care, hanging and repairing dry wall as well as various other home repair tasks. After long days of work, students were able to experience the food, history, culture, and were able to interact with the gracious people of New Orleans.

NM Students performed the phenomenal Phantom of the Operathis Friday and Saturday. More to come on Phantom in next week's edition.

Welcome Back Spring Sports!

While Under hypnosis, NM seniors believed their shoes were exotic baby animals at last Thursday's hypnotist show. The hypnotist show was hosted by the NM Student Council and featured hypnotist Dan Candell.  The final act of the show also included a segment with students being able to achieve their goals.
Classroom of the Week: Mrs. Siskind's ASL class worked in pairs to practice asking and answering questions.
