March is National Best Buddies Month, and the Chapter of North Middlesex is no exception to the phenomenal campaigns being run across the country. Within our school the Best Buddies chapter has been selling chocolate to raise money, instituting a spirit week to raise awareness, and running a campaign to end the use of the "r" word in everyday language. Students in all grades sign the posters the group made to pledge to take this word out of their vocab. Best Buddies is a group dedicated to establishing friendships between students with intellectual impairments and those without. They have 3 pillars: friendship, employment, and leadership. North Middlesex would like to thank all members of Best Buddies to the fantastic contributions they make to our school community.
The NM Student Council was awarded a Top 10 Projects award and a Gold Council of Excellence in last week's MASC leadership conference in Hyannis. This was the second year in a row that NM has received these awards. These are the highest awards that a council can receive.
