From the Principal’s Desk…

Dear North Middlesex Families,

This semester we have provided all freshman with agenda books, as part of a trial to determine if this is something we would like to roll out to all students next year. I have asked freshman teachers to require students to record homework and project dates in their agenda books this term, and to provide me with feedback about how this is working. If you have any ideas or feedback for me, please take a moment to record it here.

Quarter two grades have now closed. We are currently having technical issues with Aspen, our grading software, which is preventing some grades from showing up in report cards and online. We are working diligently to resolve this issue. I will notify families once this issue is resolved. Thank you for your patience.

Sincerely,

Isaac Taylor

Principal

High and Seek

NM Cares is sponsoring a ‘High and Seek’ on February 1 at 6:00 p.m. at the Townsend Ridge Country Club. This is an interactive presentation for adults only, using a Staged Teenage Bedroom with indicators and warning signs of teenage risky behaviors, such as drug use and underage drinking. Participants tour the bedroom, receive training on current drug and alcohol trends, what to look for, and techniques for communicating with teens. This is a free event for adults aged 21 and up. I hope that many of you will take advantage of this opportunity, designed to help promote early detection and intervention of teenage risky behaviors.

Choir Boosters ‘Casino Night’

One-hundred percent of the funds raised at Casino Night will go directly to the choral program to provide music and concert attire, produce concerts, and support our kids as they perform in NYC this spring.

Tickets are just $40 in advance ($45 at the door) and include a dinner buffet at 6pm, gaming from

7pm - 9:30pm, and prizes awarded at 9:30pm!  Tickets are going quickly – so get yours now and have an early Valentine’s Day celebration with us! To reserve your tickets, email nmchoirboosters@gmail.com.

NM Choir Boosters will be meeting Tuesdays Jan. 24, Jan. 31 and Feb. 7 at 6:30 pm in the choir room to prepare for the upcoming Casino Night fundraiser. If you have a child in the choral program, please consider sending at least one person to attend these meetings. Thank you
