The Visual Art department offers a sequential curriculum ranging from introductory courses in traditional and digital media through advanced placement offerings. Students have multiple opportunities to exhibit their work throughout the building and school community, and through participation in the annual student art exhibit. Students are also encouraged to participate in competitions such as Art All-State, the Scholastic Art Awards, and Youth Art Month. Our chapter of The National Art Honor Society provides students an artistic outlet while contributing to community service projects. Students enrolled in Graphic Design courses gain real-world experience as their work is featured throughout the community through logo design, poster displays, and other forms of media. Our Visual Art department provides support for students who plan on pursuing a career in art by assisting students in preparing an art portfolio for college admission, and facilitating guest visit and presentations to our Art Dept from leading art colleges.
